Located in San 35, Geumto-dong, Sujeong-gu, the smoke-signal Station Site of
Mt. Cheon-nimsan is the 2nd one of the 8 beacon mounds of the
Joseong Dynasty. This mound used to receive the beacons starting
at Eungbong in Busan and coming through Mt. Seokseongsan in Yongin. The beacons
sent from here were supposed to reach the fianl
destination of Mt. Mokmyeoksan (Mt.Namsan of now) in Seoul toward its 2nd peak. As the final
beacon destination in Gyeonggi Province, this fulfilled an important role.

Mt.Chonnimsan has changed its name 3 times:

long section of level ground on the gentle ridge some 545m above sea level.
Down to the east, you can find the Gyeongbu Expressway and the paved road
connecting Geumto-dong and Yetgol of sangjeok-dong. |
